Have You Registered Your Website?

Once you’ve built and optimized your Web site, it’s best to manually register your site with major search engines, like Yahoo!, Google, the Open Directory Project at DMOZ.org, LookSmart, and Ask Jeeves, or have a partner like Submitnet to do it for you. Registration doesn’t take long, but do be careful to follow the instructions provided by each engine, as they are all a little different. Careless mistakes could keep your site from being indexed properly, or at all.

Google Analytics

My previous two posts have both been promoting Google’s services, the first post on this blog recommending the use of Google Analytics. Well, I have recently noticed a large drop in my stats on one site and a complete standstill on a few other sites I own and regularly monitor. So I looked into it and found that I was not alone, that others were also reporting in online forums that they were experiencing problems. According to these reports the problem began being noticed around the 11th of March.

I personally noticed on my new blog ‘How to Make a Resume’ that my visitor numbers dropped to 0 on the 17th of this month and I have not had a visitor since…according to Google Analytics. So I had some friends visit the site to register some hits. A day later I have still not seen those visits register in Google Analytics.

Google shows Microsoft how to create a web page

It’s not easy keeping up with the ever changing methods of how to create a web page and its getting near impossible to keep up with all the new things Google is releasing. Just when I thought I was on top of all the Google releases, a new one pops up. This time it’s Google Sites.

Do I need to know how to create a web page Stat Counter?

It’s not enough to simply know how to create a web page. You really need to be able to detect what site’s are delivering traffic to you, what parts of your website they are visiting and how long they are staying. There is much more valuable information you can learn about your visitors by monitoring their behavior while at your website.
